Meet Saren Lumi

Some storiesn are born from imagination. Others are born from life.

Saren Lumi is the pen name of an author born in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1999. Her writing spans poetry, novels, emotional stories inspirated by life, andd children`s literature, while her private identity remains deliberately separate from the name under which she publishes.

Her connection with art began long before her first book was ever published.

At the age of thirteen, Saren was already showing a strong passion and talent for both writing and drawing. Two years later, her work had caught the attention of the people around her. When she was fifteen, her parents and one of the teachers encouraged her to take her manuscript to a publishing house and consider publishing her first book.

But she wasn`t ready.

At the time, Sard did not write for an audience. She wrote for herself.

For years, poems, stories, thoughts and ideas remained private - pages created not for recognition, but simply because writing had become  natural part of who she was.

What began as a private creative world during her teenage years slowly grew into something much bigger.

From private pages to a published author

The turning point came in 2025.

More than a decade after the fifteen-year-old girl had stepped away from the possibility of publishing, Saren Lumi finally decided to do wht she had not been ready to do all those years before:

share her stories with the world.

She chose to begin with children`s literature.

Her first children`s book was officially published in 2026, marking the beginning of Saren Lumi as a published author.

But behind the gentle world of children`s stories lies another, depply personal side of her writing.

A story born from loss

After losing her father, Saren began writing a book that would become one of her most personal works:

"The Man Who Loved Too Much."

The story began in grief and in the need to preserve the memory of a man who was no longer there.

For a long time, the manuscript remained something deeply personal - a way of putting memories, love and loss into words. Eventually, Saren decided that this story, too, deserved to leave the privacy of her pages and find its readers.

That contrast has become an important part of her work. On one side are gentle stories created for children.

On the other are books that explore love, loss, relationships, memory and the more difficult sides of human emotion.

Different worlds, connected by the same thing: emotion.

The person behind the name

Saren Lumi has chosen an unusual relationship with the public.

Rather than placing her face and private life at the centre of her work, she wants readers to discover her words first.

Her private identity therefore remains outside the spotlight, while the name Saren Lumi is built through the stories, characters and books she chooses to share.

Because for her, becoming a writer did not begin with the publication of her first book.

It began much earlier.

With a thirteen-year-old who was given the opportunity to publish, but knew she was not ready. And with a woman who, more than a decade later, finally decided that the stories she had kept to herself for so long were ready to be read.

That is Saren Lumi.

Some authors introduce themselves with a face. Saren Lumi chose to introduce herself through her words.
